Key Features of Floxy's Free Proxy Checker
Floxy's proxy checker is built for both casual users and power users managing large proxy pools. Here's what you get for free.
Latency Measurement
Measures full round-trip latency in milliseconds, not just a ping. Reports the lowest, average, and peak latency across your proxy pool so you can identify fast proxies and filter out underperformers for speed-sensitive tasks.
Exit IP Detection
Reports the actual IP address your traffic exits from, not just the proxy endpoint you connected to. Essential for verifying that backconnect and rotating proxies are correctly masking your origin IP before you put them to use.
Geolocation Lookup
Identifies the country, region, and city associated with each proxy's exit IP. Useful for geo-targeting tasks like ad verification, localized scraping, SERP monitoring, or verifying that a proxy is genuinely located where the provider claims.
Anonymity Level Detection
Classifies every proxy as Transparent, Anonymous, or Elite (High Anonymity). Instantly tells you whether a proxy hides your IP and whether target websites can detect that a proxy is being used, without any manual investigation.
Bulk Testing & CSV Export
Paste an unlimited number of proxies and test them all in parallel. Results appear as each test completes rather than waiting for the full batch. Export the complete dataset as a CSV for use in your own tools, systems, or client reports.
Shareable Result Links
Generate a public link to your test results with a single click. Anyone with the link can view the full report, no account needed. Useful for sharing proxy quality assessments with clients or team members without sending files.
Frequently Asked Questions
The checker attempts to route a real HTTP request through your proxy to the target URL, by default, https://www.google.com. If the request succeeds, the proxy is marked as working and the tool records the HTTP response code, full round-trip latency, exit IP, hostname, and geolocation. A failed proxy will return a timeout or an error code such as 403, 407, or 502.
You can test residential, ISP (static residential), and datacenter proxies. The tool supports HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4, and SOCKS5 protocols. Authenticated proxies in the format ip:port:username:password are also supported. Both IPv4 and IPv6 proxies can be tested, provided they are accessed via an IPv4 address.
The proxy IP is the address you connect to the entry point into the proxy server. The exit IP is the address the target website actually sees when your request arrives. For simple proxies these are the same. For backconnect or rotating proxies, the exit IP will differ because your traffic is rerouted through a different endpoint before leaving the network. If the exit IP matches your real IP, the proxy is not working correctly and your identity is exposed.
Test duration depends on the number of proxies submitted, the test region selected, and the performance of the proxies themselves. Slow or unstable proxies must wait out their connection timeout before being marked as failed, which increases total batch time. Tests are processed asynchronously, so faster proxies will appear in results immediately while slower ones are still being evaluated.
Latency is measured as the full round-trip time: from when the request leaves our test server, through your proxy, to the target URL, and back. This reflects real-world performance far more accurately than a simple ping. Under 300ms is generally acceptable for most tasks and under 100ms is ideal for latency-sensitive work like real-time data collection or ad verification.
Average latency reflects the typical performance you can expect across a pool of proxies. Lowest latency identifies your fastest individual proxy and is useful when you need to route time-sensitive requests through the best available option. If there's a large gap between the two, your proxy pool is inconsistent and some proxies may be dragging performance down.
Timeout: The proxy did not respond within the maximum wait period; it is likely offline or overloaded.
407: Proxy authentication failed; check your username and password.
403: The proxy connected but the target URL blocked the request.
502: The proxy received an invalid response from the upstream server.
Connection refused: The proxy port is closed or the address is incorrect.
Geolocation is based on the proxy's exit IP. It shows the country, region, city, and ISP associated with that address. Geolocation databases are not always perfectly accurate, particularly for residential proxies where IP assignments change frequently. If precise location matters, verify against the target site directly.
Results vary between checkers primarily because of where the testing server is located. A proxy that's fast when tested from a nearby server will appear slow when tested from across the world. Floxy lets you choose your test server region so results reflect the actual conditions your use case requires.
Yes. Paste as many proxies as you need into the input field, one per line. All proxies are tested simultaneously in parallel, so total time does not scale linearly with the number submitted. Results stream in as each test completes. Registered users have no limit on batch size.
Yes. Once testing is complete, click Export CSV to download a file containing all tested proxies with their status, latency, exit IP, geolocation, response code, and anonymity level.
A public REST API for programmatic proxy testing is in development and will be available for registered Floxy users. If you have high-volume testing requirements in the meantime, contact the Floxy team to discuss what we can support through our managed proxy services.
Yes, both are supported. IPv6 proxies must be accessed through an IPv4 address for the test to work correctly.
